I've done it. I've finished the Summer Challenge. It's been a long three months, let me tell you. I've learned a lot about this particular draft. And I made my personal best goal! Actually beat it by 123 words. Yay! Of course, this is only the beginning. I'm going to take a break from the draft. I'm going to start revisions probably in a couple of weeks. I would love to take more time than that but I already know some trouble spots that I need to revisit and I already have some … [Read more...]
Summer Challenge Milestone #12
It's amazing how when you push yourself towards a goal how much that you can accomplish. Just finished up Milestone #12 of the Challenge. One more week to go and I'm excited about finishing up this draft. Last week, I met the Challenge goal and now I'm doing a "personal" best goal, and with my current progress, I'm going to make it! I have 14 days left, which means that if I write 1000 words a day, I can reach that goal. Not sure if I can do it, but I think I'm going to … [Read more...]
Summer Challenge Milestone #10
Whew, it's been 10 weeks. Seems like 10 years, LOL. Only 3 more weeks to go in the Challenge. Although it's August, I'm still on Act 2 scenes, which is okay. I don't know if I'll make my personal goal of 60K words, but since I broke the 40K barrier, I'm definitely going to make the challenge goal of 45K words, and I can't feel too shabby about that. I'm writing scenes out of order right now, and I'm finding that I have a mess on my hands. One of my goals this week is to step back and see … [Read more...]
