What A Difference A Cover Makes

Publisher's Weekly broke the news the Bloomsbury has decided to change the cover for Justine Larbalestier's novel, Liar. Based on my previous post, Judging a Book By Its Cover, it's interesting that Bloomsbury invested money to change this book jacket and not keep the "whitewashed" cover. I must say that I'm surprised that they chose to go with a similar cover. I thought that they would just go with maybe an abstract cover without a cover model. Free Wi-Fi at B&N

I was just reading this Publisher's Weekly article, Barnes & Noble Stores to Offer Free AT&T Wi-Fi. There is a HUGE Barnes and Noble up the street from my day job where I sometimes write. One of the benefits of it was that there wasn't any free wi-fi, and I didn't spend my time surfing the web (I tend to do that at the library too). I read this New York Times article, Target Can Make Sleepy Titles Into Best Sellers Target is building a reputation as a “tastemaker” of books. With its Breakout program, the store highlights unknown writers and have helped many make it to the bestseller list. Plus, the Bookmarked Club Pick is selected by a panel of Target employees.
