Last Wednesday, I went to reading and book signing by Tayari Jones, author of Silver Sparrow. I have been a fan ever since I read her first novel, Leaving Atlanta. I love going to author readings, because I like to see how the author inflects the words and it gives me an idea of how the writer envisions her own work. Summer TBR List

I don't know about ya'll but this year is really going fast! It's basically almost summer. Summer is my favorite time of year. Why? For one thing the day job isn't a shade of crazy and things calm down a bit. It's also basically when I can really get a lot of writing done and my goal is to finish my YA project and get it ready for submissions later this year. It's also a time when I read more books. Do The Work (Updated)

For those of you who have been reading the blog for awhile, you already know how much I adore a book called The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. The Right to Write

Last week, I bought some writing magazines and a few craft books including The Right to Write by Julia Cameron. I have a copy of The Artist's Way but I've had my eye on this one for a while and never got around to purchasing it.
