Fox Fur Nebula

As some of you already know, I kinda have a geek love for space and astronomy, so sometimes I veer off-topic on the blog.

The Fox Fur Nebula is currently one of my favorites. There are many images of this nebula that have different angles and enhanced coloring, but this particular image is my favorite.

The nebula gets its name because it looks like the head of a stole made of fox fur. It is a part of NGC 2264, which is 2,700 light years from Earth and located in the Monoceros constellation.
