This past weekend I re-read a great quote by Steven Pressfield, author of The War of Art -- a must read for writers who want gems of inspiration as well as a kick in the pants: "Creative work is not a selfish act or a bid for attention on the part of the actor. I'm a really big fan of Susan Beth Pfeffer's books. I was a total fan geek when she responded to my email and sent me an autographed bookplate. I just finished reading the last book in her trilogy, This World We Live In. Breaking up in any relationship is hard to do. A writer breaking up with an agent is definitely difficult. Recently, I parted ways with my agent.
