During this time of year, a lot of lists come out for best books. Of course, best books are relative to the reader but it’s also fun to see which books are on different lists and how the lists differ. It’s also cool to see some of my writer friends on these lists.
Here are some links to some lists covering some of the “best” books of 2009 for kids and teens:
Barnes & Noble: The Best Children’s Books of 2009: Chapter Books
Amazon: Top 10 Children’s Books: Middle Readers and Teens Top 10
Publisher’s Weekly: Best Children’s Books of 2009
YALSA: 2009 Best Books for Young Adults
Library Journal: 35 Going on 13: The Best YA for Adults 2009
Plus, the Chicken Spaghetti blog has tons of other links on their Best Children’s Books of 2009: The Big List of Lists post. You should check it out.
I’m still reading a couple of books, but I’ll share with you some of my favorite books of 2009 later this month.
I post about the craft and how I balance writing with a day job. Other topics include books, authors, conferences, and diversity related to literature for kids and teens.
