Thanks to all of you who stop by or who subscribe and read my feeds.

I’m happy that I started this blog to share my love of literature for young people, novel writing, and other topics. I’ve met so many wonderful people and kindred spirits.

To celebrate this milestone and for you to get to know me better, I thought I would create a personal meme with 100 quirky facts.

  1. I’m an only child.
  2. I’m left-handed.
  3. I wear contacts.
  4. I’m scared of Lasik surgery.
  5. I always see the glass as half-full.
  6. Green is my favorite color.
  7. When it isn’t blue, red, or black.
  8. I believe my great-grandmother’s house was haunted.
  9. I believe in ghosts.
  10. I love space and astronomy.
  11. But I never wanted to be an astronaut.
  12. I’m only 5′1.
  13. I’ve have been this height since age 12.
  14. I grew up in Athens, Georgia.
  15. I took classical ballet for 10 years.
  16. I ran the 100M and the 200M for the high school track team.
  17. I was a reporter for my high school newspaper.
  18. My major in college was Broadcast Journalism.
  19. Until I changed it and enrolled in Business School.
  20. I graduated from the University of Georgia.
  21. My first car was a rusty-silver Cutlass Supreme with velveteen seats.
  22. I now drive a silver Mustang convertible.
  23. Pet Peeve: People who throw cigarette butts out their car windows.
  24. I live in the Atlanta area.
  25. In a cute ranch house.
  26. I take the parking garage stairs to get to my office building.
  27. I park on level 2 so that’s four flights of stairs.
  28. My day job is in software development.
  29. I’m a tech geek.
  30. But I don’t own an I-Phone.
  31. I love figuring out how things work.
  32. And I adore technology.
  33. I was a software engineer for 10 years.
  34. Then I took a sabbatical to go to graduate school full-time.
  35. Now I have a MS degree in Information Design and Communication.
  36. I love manicures and pedicures.
  37. I’m a nail polish addict.
  38. I love my skin color because it reminds me of chocolate.
  39. I don’t like wearing watches.
  40. One of my ex-boyfriends once gave me a watch as a present.
  41. After we broke up, I pawned it and bought books.
  42. I love platinum and sterling silver jewelry.
  43. I was robbed of all my jewelry once.
  44. The robbers also stole my laptop.
  45. I didn’t back up any of my writing projects on that laptop.
  46. Lucky for me I had all of my projects printed out.
  47. I now keep three backup copies of my writing projects at all times.
  48. I like entertaining and house parties.
  49. I enjoy cooking for guests.
  50. I love McDonald’s french fries.
  51. I have never eaten a Big Mac.
  52. I don’t like bread that much.
  53. But I will eat a biscuit!
  54. I love Publix fried chicken.
  55. And peanut butter ice cream.
  56. Key lime pie is one of my favorite desserts.
  57. I eat mashed potatoes and gravy when I’m stressed.
  58. I always order calamari as an appetizer.
  59. I could Mexican food every day.
  60. I love Red Spumante wine.
  61. But I don’t like hard liquor.
  62. Except when it’s in margaritas.
  63. Or in lemon drop martinis.
  64. Reality TV is one of my secret guilty pleasures.
  65. But LOST is my favorite TV show.
  66. Most of the guys on LOST are hot.
  67. I also love watching CNN.
  68. Anderson Cooper, TJ Holmes, and Don Lemon are hot.
  69. Any beach is my favorite vacation spot.
  70. I love snorkeling.
  71. And deep sea fishing.
  72. I love riding roller coasters.
  73. I once went bungee jumping.
  74. Now I want to do a tandem skydive.
  75. I’ve been on a cruise twice.
  76. Both times I went to the Bahamas.
  77. I had to go on a business trip a week after 9/11.
  78. It was in Tampa, FL and I went.
  79. I quit that job a year later.
  80. His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman is a favorite book.
  81. You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay is a favorite inspirational book.
  82. Lessons In Becoming Myself by Ellen Burstyn is a favorite memoir.
  83. I love the author Octavia Butler.

  88. I usually read 40-60 books a year.
  89. Since 2002, I’ve read over 400 books.
  90. I love libraries.
  91. I got my first library card when I was 6 years old.
  92. I got my “big girl” library card when I was 13 years old.
  93. First book I checked out: The Stand by Stephen King.
  94. I wrote my first story titled “Portrait of a Lawyer” when I was 10 years old.
  95. It was based on a scene from the The Young and The Restless soap opera.
  96. I have a quill pen tattoo.
  97. I started taking writing seriously in 2006.
  98. I finished a middle-grade ghost story.
  99. Now I’m working on a YA novel.
  100. I love being a Novelista.
